POLICE in the Midlands are investigating a case of aggravated indecent assault of a seven-year-old boy who was allegedly being abused by the driver of his school bus.
The driver has only been identified as Jonso.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, said the abuse is believed to have happened on several occasions inside the kombi used to ferry the boy to school.
“The suspect is a driver of a school-run commuter omnibus, only known as Jonso, with no further particulars known. It is alleged that on March 19, 2026, the victim’s mother discovered some faeces on the victim’s pants while she was undressing him.
“She interviewed the victim and he narrated that the commuter omnibus driver who ferries him to and from school was sodomising him in the commuter omnibus.”
He urged parents to be careful when it comes to entrusting their children into the hands of strangers.
“Due diligence needs to be taken in the planning of movements of children to and from school.
“If anyone has information about the whereabouts of the suspect, they are welcome to pass it to any police station,” said Insp Mahoko.
