More than 20 pupils wrote the subject at the school.
Disgruntled parents who spoke to the Chronicle yesterday said the development had adversely affected their children as they could not
secure places at universities and other institutions of higher learning.
“When we contacted the school, we were told the problem was with Zimsec,” said a parent identified only as Mr Mturikwa.
Mr Mturikwa said his child who sat for science subjects, was missing Mathematics results, a development which he said had shattered his child’s
hopes to enroll with Midlands State University whose first semester started this week.
“At first we took the child to task thinking he cheated us by not registering to write the subject but when we contacted the school authorities, we later learnt that all pupils that wrote Mathematics at the school did not receive the results,” he said.
Mr Mturikwa said his child scored nine points, in the other two subjects he sat for, but cannot enroll for a programme of his choice at the university because of this anomaly.
Midlands Provincial Education director, Mrs Egness Gudo confirmed that Mathematics results for Chegato High School were missing despite the
fact that more than 20 pupils wrote the subject.
“We are aware of the problem and we are working on it to see to that the affected pupils get their results soon,” she said.-Chronicle
