THE National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness have dismissed rumours that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be coming to Zimbabwe for this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

ZITF is usually held in April in Bulawayo and for the past years they have been hosting a Mr and Ms ZITF bodybuilding contest.

Association spokesperson Givemore Marume dismissed the rumours. “Reference is made to a number of phone calls, Facebook chats, emails and Whatsapp messages sent to us requesting clarity on whether Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming to Zimbabwe for the ZITF Open contest or not and we as the National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness we do not directly run it.

“We simply licence it hence we do not have the details of who they will invite for the 2018 edition. ‘‘Furthermore, the National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness do not have an official document or minute from the traditional ZITF promoters regarding the coming of Arnold Schwarzenegger to Zimbabwe during the 2018 ZITF.

‘‘In the event that there is an official position, we will communicate accordingly,” Marume said.
