Scott Vincent returns for Grand Slam

The Chapman Grand Slam tees off this morning with several top amateurs expected to take part.
The annual event usually draws a full field with almost all top amateurs taking part in both team and individual events.

Chapman has improved in terms of course condition this year and its team remains one to beat in the event which carries order of merit points.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chapman manager, Stewart Utta, said they expect an interesting but tight contest.

“We have faith in our team but there are a lot of good players as well. The course is playing well but can pose a challenge to any player,” said Utta.
The Chapman team is made up mostly of seasoned amateurs but they are likely to face the challenge of Country Club which also has players who have been doing well.

The event follows the Manicaland Amateur Championship won by Biggy Chibvuri.
Chibvuri will be representing his Manicaland Province this time despite now being based in the capital.

Midlands Province also have a strong team that features Tanaka Mhere.
