Scott Vincent wins Mutare

Leopard Rock Golf Club in Mutare at the weekend.
The golfer got the better of other 45 players who took to the field for the tournament.
Vincent consolidated his status as the country’s leading amateur golfer when he carded 73, 70 and 74.
The Chapman golfer has managed to win all the events he has participated in since he returned from South Africa.
Vincent was the major drawcard going into the tournament and proved that he was the one to beat.
After winning the Zimbabwe Amateur Championship, the golfer went on to win the Zimbabwe Amateur MatchPlay.
Defending champion Barry Painting was runner-up after a decent outing.
The golfer had a bad day in office on the third and final round, which cost him dearly.
Painting won the tournament last year to end Vincent’s 25-match unbeaten run.
The former professional player had a good start when he scored 73, 72 but a 77 in the final round saw him settle for second position.
New kid on the block, Kembo Kampira, finished third.
The unheralded player managed to come out better than most golfers who were expected to make an impact.
Greg Bentley finished fourth while Bret Krog was fifth.
Meanwhile, the first edition of the woman golf league was held at Wingate Park at the weekend.
