SCOTTISH soccer coach Frank Nuttall is interested in the Zimbabwe Warriors national team job, with revelations that he has already submitted his application to the Zifa Normalisation Committte.
Nuttall is the latest international coach to show his desire to coach the Warriors.announced there were vacancies for all national team sides including the women’s teams. The vacancies arose after the country was last month re-admitted to international football after the lifting of the Fifa ban. As Zimpapers Sports Hub can reveal, Nuttall sent his CV to the
Association, this being a clear indication that the race for the top Warriors job has attracted attention.
He watched the Dynamos FC match against Simba Bhora on Saturday.
He was in the company of his friend Patrick Makekera who owns Kwekwe United. Nuttall boasts of seven professional qualifications under his belt. He is a Fifa coaching instructor, Uefa Pro Licence holder, Uefa A Licence, Scottish FA Futsal
Level 1 and 2, Scottish FA talent ID and an FA Fitness trainer award.
In his opening remarks in his CV, gleaned by Zimpapers Sports Hub, Nuttall said: “Throughout my career in professional football, I have amassed a lot of experience in many facets of the game as a player, coach, coach educator, player, scout and technical consultant.
“I have utilised my extensive knowledge and expertise to enable the progression of clubs, national teams and national associations worldwide. I have contributed to on field success at numerous football organisations and have constructed a proven track record in player development.”
So nomadic has been the coach as he has worked with over 10 clubs plying their trade at top leagues the world over. He was head coach at Egyptian giants Zamalek, Ghana’s Hearts of Oak, Police FC of Rwanda, Township Rollers of Botswana, Qingdao of China among others.
He had a stint at English sides Middlesborough and Bristol City .
Nuttal once played a part in developing the talents of former Liverpool and Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling and Tottenham’s star and England captain Harry Kane.
The hunt for the Warriors job has gathered pace as Zimbabwe had been frozen out of the game following the suspension of the Felton Kamambo-led Zifa board by the SRC.
