A battle on neutral venue!
Bulawayo is set to witness a historic clash on 12 April at a venue yet to be announced, as South Africa’s AmaPiano new age boys Lee McKrazy and Scotts Maphuma will be the headlining acts at the second edition of the Bulawayo Piano Festival.
The brainchild of local leading events management crew Harris Entertainment, the first edition of the Piano Festival was held in December, and its success brought the vision for it to be held from time to time.
It won’t be the first time for the most wanted AmaPiano lads to grace an event in the city of Kings on a solo basis. Lee McKrazy made his debut last year in December at BAC Leisure, with Scotts Maphuma of the Bathini Bona fame performing at Cosmopolitan VIP Lounge in January.
As if that is not enough, one of the organisers of the event Jordan Dube has revealed that DJ Maphorisa will also be in the mix to provide support to the boys.
He said other creatives who have been activated and confirmed to be part of the gig are local DJs Umlungu Omnyama, Kotwane Hikwa, DJ Sida and Keezy AM, among others.
“We created the Piano Festival last year in December as a way of providing entertainment to showbiz event fanatics during the festive season.
“We were overwhelmed by the turnout as people came in numbers for the particular gig which was headlined by local acts only.
“The success we recorded on that night led us to sit down again and map ways of making this a movement which will host these festivals from time to time.
“We are proud to announce that we will be having our second edition of the festival on 12 April. The venue will be announced soon.
“The upcoming event is a must-attend because we are bringing AmaPiano’s most sought after artistes — Lee McKrazy and Scotts Maphuma — on one stage, hence, the show is already tipped to be top notch.
“To spice things up, DJ Maphorisa is now also part of the line-up for the festival. Initially he was supposed to headline the Shutdown party later in April. Unfortunately, because of his tight schedule, he then settled to travel to Bulawayo on 12 April to support his boys on stage,” said Dube.
The organisers encouraged people to get their tickets early to avoid disappointments on the night of the event.
