A SIXTH-MINUTE strike by Tymon Machope is the difference as log leaders Scottland went to halftime leading Chicken Inn 1-0 in a fiery Week 30 clash at Barbourfields Stadium.

Machope, fed by a brilliant Khama Billiat pass, calmly slotted past Donovan Bernard to silence the Gamecocks’ faithful.

The hosts, who started brightly, felt robbed just two minutes into the match when referee Mhaka Magare waved away a penalty shout after Kingsley Mureremba appeared to handle inside the box. Their frustrations deepened four minutes later when Scottland struck first blood.

Chicken Inn tried to claw back, with Walter Musona dazzling in the 41st minute only to see his thunderbolt blocked by Malon Mushonga with Bernard already beaten.

A sizeable crowd has gathered at Emagumeni to watch the battle, with the 2015 champions Chicken Inn stuck in 10th place on 33 points, while Scottland sit at the summit with 56 points, just one ahead of defending champs Simba Bhora who have a game in hand.

The Gamecocks versus Scottland clash is the only fixture today, with the rest of the Week 30 action set for the weekend.
