Sunday Sermon with Apostle Chisale
Greetings beloved nation, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Ladies and gentlemen, the subject of prayer can never be overemphasised in the life of a believer. A prayer that holds value is one that is concerned with the will of God. Prayer involves surrendering our will for God’s will. It is about taking back to God what He has already said to us. In other words, whatever God tells us becomes a prayer point; whatever He reveals to us, whether through a vision or a prophetic word, also becomes a prayer point.
Prayer leads us to bring forth what God desires or is doing in our lives, families, businesses, ministries, nations and even the nations of the world.
The Church is a spiritual womb on earth that births the purposes and promises of God. It is through prayer that we birth God’s will on earth. We do not simply sit and wait for things to happen on their own.
The Bible tells us in the book of Mark 4:3,14: “Behold, a sower went out to sow… The sower sows the word.” The Word of God is a seed that is released to the Church, and the Church becomes pregnant with what it has conceived. So, whenever you hear God speak directly to your spirit, you conceive — and therefore, you must birth the purposes and plans of God in your life. At times, God comes and “overshadows” us with a prophetic word during intimate worship, or His glory descends and implants within us a seed of destiny and promise.
The place of prayer is a place of intimacy with God; it is the secret place of spiritual conception. When you hear from God in that secret place, you become pregnant with His Word. Then you enter a season of incubation and nurturing.
This is often a trying season, when you know you carry a dream, a purpose, a destiny from God — yet you see no visible fruit of it in your life.
Ladies and gentlemen, in order to bring forth as believers, we must enter the “birthing position” in this season of giving birth, a season of birthing new things. This is a season of posture and positioning ourselves to birth the seeds we have been incubating. As believers, we birth through prayer because we are the birthing agents of God’s promises.
In Exodus 1:16, the Bible tells us that the Hebrew women used a delivery stool, which helped them sit in a specific position to give birth with ease. Likewise, as believers, we must assume the birthing position in order to “push” through in prayer.
1 Kings 18:41–46 recounts the story of Elijah. In verse 41, Elijah heard the sound of heavy rain in the spirit, though in the natural there was none. He discerned in the spirit that God wanted to bring rain after a prolonged drought. We must remain connected to God so that we can discern what He wants to birth through us. For some, God may be releasing new assignments, so you must be in tune with Him. Many continue with old assignments, failing to sense the shift in the spiritual atmosphere.
In verse 42, Elijah went into the birthing position and began to intercede. He did not give up during this birthing process. There was a shift, from a season of severe drought to a season of abundant rain. It was time to move into a new season. Elijah girded up his loins, meaning he pulled up his robe to prevent anything from hindering him as he ran forward with supernatural power and acceleration.
Ladies and gentlemen, the birthing season cannot be treated the same as the season of incubation. We cannot live the same way in a season of birthing as we did in a season of waiting. We must remove anything from our lives that could hinder us from advancing into the new season.
Perhaps you’ve been in a place of delay, distraction, or even confusion. Perhaps you carry visions, dreams, missions and purposes that remain unfulfilled. You may think it’s too late, or that it’s the wrong time for the things God has planted in you. But be encouraged and prepare for this season of new birth. The light of God’s glory is shining upon your situation! We are about to experience sudden breakthroughs, signs and wonders. Hearing and obeying God are the keys to unlocking our prison doors.
Acts 12:7–8 tells us:
“Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, ‘Quick! Get up!’ And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, ‘Get dressed and put on your sandals.’ And he did. ‘Now put on your coat and follow me,’ the angel ordered.”
It is time to get up quickly and get properly dressed. It is time to be positioned for new birth, under the leading of the Spirit of God, for the season ahead.
If you are not born again, I would like to invite you to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is your Lord and Saviour and you shall be saved.
May God bless you all.
