Project Scope
l Construction of a 28,2m high earth-fill dam with a crest length of 346 metres and a 240 cubic meters per hour bulk water treatment plant together with a 7km pipeline linking the bulk water treatment works to the town’s water reticulation system.
l The project also included the establishment of a 120-hectare irrigation scheme.
Progress to date
l ZINWA already supplying water to Chivhu Town using the new, bigger and modern 240 cubic meters per hour water treatment plant
l Pipeline also complete
l 90 hectares of land under summer crop at the established irrigation scheme. The same irrigation scheme had a winter wheat crop last year.
