Project Scope

Construction of a zoned earth-fill dam with maximum height of 43,5 metres and a crest length of 340 metres

  • Construction of transfer weir comprising a masonry gravity weir 90 metres long and 6 metres high
  • Reinforced concrete sediment excluder and tunnel intake comprising a 7 meters long side weir and 30 meters long culvert
  • Conveyance tunnel with a diameter of 1,7m and 7,3km long
  • It will be the biggest dam in Mashonaland Central on completion

  • Agriculture (4 000 hectares) – farmers in Guruve and Mbire districts to benefit.
  • As more food is produced, nutrition will improve, school dropouts reduced
