SECURICO Security Services has celebrated 27 years of operation, with top industry and Government leaders praising its journey from a four-person outfit to a transformative enterprise that represents a national benchmark for corporate growth and social impact.

The event, which was held in Harare last Friday, saw the company’s founder, Dr Divine Simbi Ndhlukula, (pictured), reflect on the firm’s humble beginnings.

“Twenty-seven years ago, this company began as a simple, four-man operation in my own backyard,” she said.

“It was built on a promise; to deliver unwavering trust and absolute security. Today, that promise is kept by a force of over 4 000 dedicated men and women.”

Dr Ndhlukula said the growth into a comprehensive security provider for sectors such as banking, mining and diplomacy was a testament to vigilance and service quality.

In her keynote, SeedCo Zimbabwe managing director Ms Felistus Ndawi-Gurajena said 27 years ago, the security sector was “a landscape dominated by men, by tradition”.

“Yet, one visionary leader looked at that landscape and saw not barriers, but opportunity. Opportunity to innovate, opportunity to lead, and opportunity to empower.”

“The story of Securico is a masterclass in the journey from “Good to Great”. It began not with hundreds of employees, but with just four people and the audacious vision of your founder.

“Four people who believed in a different kind of security — one built on professionalism, integrity, and genuine community partnership. Today, 27 years later, that belief has grown into a national force, employing over 4 200 people across Zimbabwe.”

Ms Ndawi-Gurajena said the large number of employees today is a “true meaning of scaling a business and scaling impact”.

“Securico didn’t just join the security sector; you revolutionised it. You moved beyond simple guarding services to offering sophisticated, cutting-edge security solutions that meet the complex demands of the 21st century.
