A LOCAL security services provider has attributed its successful regional expansion to the creation of a favourable business environment by the Second Republic, after its Tanzanian subsidiary was named the Upcoming International Security Company of the Year at a prestigious awards ceremony in the East African nation.
The accolade marks a major milestone in the firm’s regional growth strategy and underscores the growing presence of Zimbabwean companies in regional markets.
Speaking after receiving the award, Real Star Security Zimbabwe general manager Mr Fortune Mhariwa said: “The business environment created through investment – friendly policies has encouraged private sector growth and infrastructure development, which naturally increases demand for professional security services.
“As more businesses invest and expand, the need for reliable security partners also grows. Policies that promote economic development, public – private partnerships and business confidence create opportunities for security companies to modernise their operations, invest in technology, improve workforce skills and contribute more effectively to protecting businesses, communities and national assets.”
Mr Mhariwa said the supportive operating environment had enabled companies, including Real Star Security, to pursue innovation, modernisation and sustainable growth.
“Overall, a stable and supportive business environment benefits the security industry by encouraging innovation, professionalism and sustainable growth,” he said.
Real Star Security Tanzania country manager, Mr Arnold Maruba, described the award as a major achievement for the company and a testament to the commitment of its workforce.
“Receiving this award is a tremendous honour and a proud milestone for Real Star Security Tanzania,” he said.
“It is a recognition of the dedication, professionalism and hard work of our entire team, from our security officers on the ground to our management and support staff.

“We are deeply grateful to our clients for their trust and confidence, and to our employees whose discipline, integrity and commitment have made this success possible. This award inspires us to continue raising the standard of private security services in Tanzania and across the region.”
Mr Maruba attributed the company’s success to continuous investment in human capital, technology and customer – focused service delivery.
“Our success is built on several key pillars. First, we invest heavily in the recruitment, training and continuous development of our security personnel to ensure they meet international standards.
“Second, we embrace technology by integrating modern security solutions such as CCTV surveillance, guard monitoring systems, electronic reporting, access control systems and real-time incident management into our operations.”
He said the company had built its reputation by tailoring solutions to clients’ specific security requirements while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Looking ahead, Mr Maruba said the company would continue strengthening its position in Tanzania while expanding its range of integrated security solutions.
“Our vision is to position Real Star Security Tanzania as one of the leading integrated security service providers in Tanzania. We will continue investing in advanced security technologies, employee training and digital transformation to improve efficiency and service delivery,” he said.
