SUNGURA musician, Mollen “Senator” Tichareva, says he is on a mission to become a major player on the local musical industry.

Senator Tichareva recently released his fifth studio album, titled ‘Haisi Nyaya Diki’.

The album carries songs like ‘Tsimba Mumvura’, ‘Mirira, ‘Vanochema’, ‘Ucharamba Uchipisa’, ‘Kupfuma Kushanda’ and ‘Garai Muchinamata’.

In an interview with H-Metro, the musician said:

“I am now close to a decade in the music industry and I believe I have come of age,” said Senator Tichareva.

“Over the years, I have worked with a number of artists, and this has helped refine my skills.

“Our goal was to create a solid project that would appeal to everyone. I am pleased and humbled by the positive feedback we are receiving from our fans.

“The journey has been challenging but I am glad we are gradually making progress.

“I have been assisted by some industry veterans, including Rodrick ‘Bambo’ Chomudara and Phillip Dzivike, who formerly worked with Simon Chimbetu, as a backing vocalist.”

He said he was inspired to pursue music by the likes of Khiama Boys, Alick Macheso, Njerama Boys and the Ngosimbi Crew.

He collaborated with Suluman Chimbetu on a track ‘Kumarinda’ in 2016.

He has since worked with the likes of Mark Ngwazi on ‘N’anga DzeMabhachi’ and Andy Muridzo on ‘Gonzo Harisi Usavi.’

“The future looks bright, ‘Haisi Nyaya Diki’ is giving me hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel and I am keeping my foot on the pedal.

“We will be hosting more live shows and releasing a new video each month,” said Senator Tichareva.
