Defence lawyer Ms Beatrice Mtetwa quickly objected to the evidence. However, the State submitted that the information was contained in another statement that was not annexed to the papers. Justice Chinembiri Bhunu adjourned the trial to today when the State is expected to furnish the defence with the said statement.

The defence also got an opportunity to take further instructions in light of the latest developments.
He said police investigated Madzore’s alibi and discovered that it was false before arresting him.

The trial continues today.
