A SENIOR prosecutor based at the Tsholotsho magistrates court has been suspended from work with immediate effect for alleged misconduct
Andrew Maigeta is accused of trespassing into a senior police officer’s home some time last year.
According to a letter signed by National Prosecuting Director for Administration Mr Admire Munoweyu, Maigeta has been suspended from work for three months on half pay while investigations into his case are being conducted.
Maigeta is alleged to have entered into the house of former Zimbabwe Republic Police officer in charge of Tsholotsho Police Station, Chief Inspector Samuel Tadzaushe without permission.
“ . . . you entered into the house of the officer in charge, ZRP Tsholotsho without permission. You are alleged to have phoned one accused person, Nkululeko Sibanda, who has a pending case before the courts at midnight telling him to report to your office and you were intoxicated when the incidents occurred,” read the letter.
The letter also states that Maigeta should not leave the country without permission, as well as interfere with investigations.
