A BULAWAYO man who left a trail of smashed windows, stolen groceries and stripped wardrobes in Insuza is finally facing justice after being nabbed for a string of bizarre burglaries, including the theft of a cock from a fowl run!

Clement Donga (39) appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube charged with five counts of unlawful entry and theft. He pleaded not guilty, claiming he wasn’t even in Insuza when the break-ins happened.
One of late-night raids yielded a loot that ranged from blankets and belts to beans and birds.

On 11 February, Donga allegedly smashed a window at Pedzai Goldfields Sibanda’s house and helped himself to a solar panel, trousers, a belt, a cap, and US$30.

Barely two weeks later, on 27 February, he allegedly struck again at Plot 113 Maraposa, breaking a door handle to steal a passport, packets of beans and various clothes.

Not done yet, on 5 March, Donga is accused of using a sharp object to open a padlock at another home in Maraposa, where he stole a blanket. Moments later, he reportedly smashed another window, took another blanket, trousers, groceries and US$50.

The grand finale? On 6 March, Donga allegedly returned to Sibanda’s home, sneaked through a broken window, and stole a dish, then made his way to the fowl run and grabbed a cock!
