BOTTOM-PLACED Triangle United have seven matches left to save their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League status after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over TelOne kept their survival hopes alive.
The Lowveld side remains anchored at the foot of the table with 18 points from 27 matches, but coach Genesis Mangombe believes they can still escape relegation if they build on the win at Ascot Stadium.
“I know it’s tough, and it’s very difficult, but we need to take every game when it comes,” said Mangombe.
“If we manage to collect maximum points in each and every game, surely we can survive the chop.” Mangombe was also pleased that Triangle managed to score twice away from home.
“And I’m happy that we managed to score twice, playing away for the win,” he said.
But with only seven matches remaining, Mangombe knows Triangle have little room for error.
“We need to work very hard, very, very hard,” he said.
