A COMMERCIAL sex worker was dragged to court yesterday after she allegedly stole a cellphone from a client who had hired her for the night.

The suspect, Emma Maunze, was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare Magistrate Ruth Moyo.

Allegations are that on August 10, the complainant, Sidney Rosa (64), hired Maunze for the night at Club 263 Night Club in the Harare central business district.

The two proceeded to the rooms inside Club 263 Night Club for intimacy.

After the act, Maunze went away and Rosa then discovered that his Samsung Galaxy A101 cell phone was missing.

He made a follow-up, but Maunze had vanished. Later that night, Rosa saw Maunze sitting, drinking beer with her friends. He reported the case and positively identified Maunze, leading to her arrest.

Nothing was recovered.
