South African-based Zimbabwean “Queen of Amapiano”, Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro, commonly known as Sha Sha, left Zimbabweans wanting for more after her performance for only 20 minutes at Alexandra Sports Club in Harare on Sunday evening.

The show started in time as it was set to start at 12pm till late.

The early birds, who came between 12pm pm and 3pm got tickets for US$5, whereas those who came after that bought them for US$10 for a standard seat, while a seat in the VIP section was going for US$30. The sports club was packed, as people came in large numbers to see Sha Sha perform.

Other performances were from Zimbabwean disk jockeys, including Chucknosis, Raydizz, Fujee, nuvibe, Madeherbelieve, Naida, Tinashe and the master of ceremony Cut.

The disc jockeys held fort from the time the show started until Sha Sha took to the stage at 9pm.

The “Queen of Amapiano” got the crowd excited after she sang her songs, which included “Sweet Melody”, “Love You Tonight” and “Woza”.

She sang very well with her dancing team, with her presence on stage keeping the show alive. But Sha Sha left many in the audience disappointed after she performed for exactly 20 minutes, leaving the crowd yearning for more.

Sha Sha got into the singing industry at the tender age of 19 in 2011.

From then on, she has kept moving and producing more songs with “Ipiano” being her recent song and Kamo Mphela, which was released last year.

The show finished before 10pm, which is not what the audience had expected.

“I am very disappointed as I expected her to perform for more than 20 minutes,” said Martha Chingoma, who was part of the audience.

“Besides the disk jockeys, the show was more about her, but she performed for a very short time.”

Aaron Madida said he enjoyed the live show, but Sha Sha should increase her time on stage next time.

“I came all the way from Chinhoyi because I did not want to miss this show,” he said. “I expected her to perform for at least an hour, but it was very unfortunate she could not.”
