Showbiz Talking Points with TeeKay
IT’S been a drama-laden second week of April.
Some celebrities were badly exposed for their arrogance and others for their fascination with shame.
Here are some of the major takeaways:
l WELL DONE MAJUICE
Suspended Orchestra Mberikwazvo lead dancer, Selemane “Majuice” Mpochi, has been trending all week.
Yesterday, he did the right thing when he apologised for the conduct which resulted in him being suspended.
Initially, he claimed the band’s management was targeting him for no reason at all.
However, like a mature adult, he finally saw the light and apologised to Alick Macheso and the management.
That’s the way to go Majuice and we ask Macheso to forgive the dancer.
He made a mistake and he is sorry for that.
Already, an example has been set and the band members now know there are limits to their indiscipline.
l FOREIGN TRIPS GALORE
A month hardly passes without local acts flying overseas.
Mokoomba is in the US, Andy Muridzo, Mathias Mhere and Voltz JT are on tour in Australia.
Suluman Chimbetu is set for a maiden tour of the US in June.
We now want our artists to start playing before multi-racial crowds and not only Zimbabwean communities based overseas.
l MAMPARA OF THE WEEK
This week, my task was made easy, thanks to disgraced comedienne Mai TT and her daughter Fifi, 17, who are trending because of nude pictures which were posted online.
Mai TT shocked the nation as she defended her daughter and encouraged her to dump more nudes online.
As a mother who is raising the little girl, her stance was unacceptable.
She owes us an apology.
Mai TT is not fit to be a mother if she continues to defend such nonsense and immorality.
