Dynamos midfielder Tanaka “Kante” Shandirwa says he has adapted well since joining the club from Castle Lager Premier Soccer league side, Yadah.
Shandirwa, who has earned more admirers at the club, said the support he has received at the club has made him feel obliged to put in extra hard work.
He felt there is a special bond between the team and its fans which drives the club.
Shandirwa missed DeMbare’s last match against Bulawayo Chiefs due to injury but he is expected back in the matrix as the team faces old town rivals CAPS United.
CAPS have been struggling of late as they are still to collect maximum points in the second half of the season.
CAPS played to a one all draw with Chicken Inn at Bata on Sunday and will be motivated enough ahead of the Harare derby.
Shandirwa said the team is focused on achieving its goals. “Since I joined Dynamos I can say so far so good, I have adapted well and the idea is to keep on working hard and try to improve in all aspects as I keep learning on a daily basis. I am focused and I believe with extra effort I will achieve more with the club. “The way the Dynamos fans have embraced me is special. I feel a special bond between us and I am grateful for the love they have shown me and the club. The way they appreciate us makes me feel that I have a bright future with the club.”
Shandirwa, who made his biggest show on the first leg against CAPS United, said the team only has to remain focused and work extra hard if they are to collect maximum points this weekend.
DeMbare go into the derby at the back of a 1-2 defeat against Bulawayo chiefs.
“We need to remain focused as a team on our goals and work to get maximum points on our upcoming matches. The team might have suffered a setback but it’s part of football which simply means we have to work extra hard and find ourselves back on our feet.”
“We are facing CAPS United in our next match which is a big match for us. It’s a derby and it has nothing to do with form. These types of matches are normally decided on the pitch and we have to prepare ourselves well physically, mentally and tactically for us to achieve our goals.”
