Residents of Ward 23 in Insiza have received a timely boost ahead of the winter season after Councillor Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo donated blankets to Shangani Rural Clinic on Saturday.
The donation, made during an early morning visit, was received by Sithokozile Madzuramende. According to Patriotic Vendors4ED affiliate Dumiso Makhalima, the blankets are expected to improve patient care at the clinic, particularly as temperatures begin to drop.
Speaking after the handover, Cllr Nkomo said the gesture was inspired by President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 agenda.
“Ward 23 is a hotspot, and this clinic plays a vital role in caring for those involved in road accidents. I noticed they needed more blankets, especially with June’s cold season around the corner,” she said.
“Forward, forever, with CAB3, and Zimbabwe will be a middle-class economy by 2030.”
The event was attended by ZANU PF Ward 23 leadership, including Vice Chairperson Cde Marrison Banda, Secretary Cde Sipho Phiri and Youth Chairperson Cde Thobekile Jele, as well as several community members.
Insiza North has in recent months witnessed a surge in community support initiatives, with local leaders and stakeholders contributing towards schools, clinics and other social services.
Recent donations have also been made by Cde Brighton Ncube to the community and Pagama Primary School, while Cllr Nkomo has extended assistance to institutions within Ward 23 and neighbouring areas.
MP Delani Moyo has also been involved in similar initiatives across the constituency.
