AFRO-POP diva Shashl has struck gold once again.
Her evolution is once more under the spotlight following the successful launch of her second album, titled “The First Quarter.”
With this release, she not only showcased her musical prowess but also demonstrated significant personal and artistic growth.
She is currently receiving rave reviews for her quartet of songs, including “Womera,” “Perfect Somebody,” “Weakness,” and “Muzeerere,” featuring ExQ.
Yesterday, she dropped the visuals for the track “Perfect Somebody” as she continues her journey in music.
Other songs that complete the album include “Gyration,” “Positive Vibes,” “Munhu Wako,” “Shine,” “Kumagumo,” and “Energy.”
The “Ghetto Buddies” hit-maker, who has been active for some time now, is not only a powerful songwriter but also has a deep understanding of music.
Those with an ear for good music have endorsed this project as a success.
The vocal clarity, powerful messages and overall delivery by the production team, ranging from mixing to engineering, were executed with finesse. After carefully listening to the entire album, one can easily deduce that she is singing from the heart.
She has tackled subjects she fully understands and has experienced, especially love.
Shashl was brave enough to address life as it is, drawing from her own experiences, as she mentioned in an interview with this publication.
“I am tackling the subject of love from my experience, my journey in life, and life in general,” she stressed. “I have also addressed issues resonating with our everyday lives,” she said.
“I am that kind of person who is true to herself. If you want to please the whole world, live a fake life. I am true to myself and live each day as if it’s my last on earth. I always want to make an impression in whatever I do.
“I will do so by staying rooted in my purpose and evolving with every season. I believe consistency, curiosity, and authenticity are key. I’m always learning, always creating, and surrounding myself with a team that believes in the vision. That’s how the fire stays alive.”
She credits her management team for organising regional and international tours.
“We are currently finalising details for a regional tour, starting with shows. Internationally, I’m in talks for a few appearances later this year – I’ll be announcing dates soon.
“Growing up, I have seen a lot, especially the plight of poor people in society. As such, I have always wanted to change lives. I have always wanted to become a medical doctor and help people. I have given up on that dream, but one day I will be one.
“I just love charity work and it is something artists should always do to change people’s lives. I feel happy when I bring smiles to people, and this is what I believe in as Shashl.”
