Shipping agents association establishes monthly bulletin

bulletin, which will be centred on trade and freight-forwarding news.
According to SFAAZ, the Shipping and Forwarding bulletin is aimed at furthering the interests of its membership.
SFAAZ chairman Mr Phanuel Gukwe said the bulletin will help bridge the communication gap that existed, because prior the publication of the magazine, communication among its membership had been limited to telephone and e-mail.
“Our communication with other stakeholders such as importers and exporters, the general trading public and Government agencies has been lacking. It is this gap that we seek to bridge with the launch of this bulletin.
“The Shipping and Forwarding bulletin is meant to be a communication vehicle of information in the industry. Its editorial policy will be non-partisan and reflective of the interest of industry and the trading public in general,” said Mr Gukwe.
The editor of the bulletin is former Sunday Mail sports deputy editor Hope Chizuzu. SFAAZ chief executive officer Mr Joseph Musariri said the bulletin would act as an advertising medium that is focused on the shipping and forwarding industry. To this extent, Mr Musariri added that the publication would be fully funded through the sale of advertising space and will be distributed free.
SFAAZ has said the target audience for the bulletin includes importers and exporters, relevant arms of Government, parastatals, and key industry organisations representing various sectors of the economy and the association’s membership.
Copies of the bulletin will also be distributed to Zimbabwean embassies in the region and abroad.
Meanwhile, SFAAZ said it has observed an increase in small to medium enterprises participating in the shipping and forwarding industry to the extent that SMEs now constitute the largest percentage of its members.
The SFAAZ was established in 1955.
