Shocking infidelity scandal rocks Penhalonga

A married woman from Penhalonga is at the centre of a complex love affair involving a live-in boyfriend and her brother-in-law.

While her husband, living in a rural area, ignores warnings from his daughters, a tangled web of infidelity has unfolded.

Fungai Chimbiti, who has been customarily married to Raxton Mutamiswa for 10 years, raised suspicions by living with Kudzai Musasa, falsely presented as a tenant. She was also involved in a romantic relationship with her brother-in-law, Julius Masaka.

Chimbiti’s actions have created a highly unusual situation.

Recently, Chimbiti and her two lovers appeared before Chief Mutasa. The chief ordered Masaka to pay three cattle to Mutamiswa, and Chimbiti to pay one cow to Mutamiswa’s sister for the affair.

Both Mutamiswa and his sister were instructed to undergo sexually transmitted infection tests and make the results public.

Mutamiswa had steadfastly supported his wife until Masaka admitted to their affair. Mutamiswa claimed, during his visits from their rural home, he was consistently told that Musasa was a tenant, and he never suspected anything.

This deception had continued for two years.

“Our marital bed has never lacked, and she fulfils her conjugal duties and respects me as her husband and head of the family,” he stated.

The complex web of love was exposed by Mutamiswa’s daughter, Anniah. She informed the court that while her father resided in Honde Valley, her stepmother brought her live-in boyfriend into their matrimonial home, falsely presenting him as a tenant.

After enduring these lies for two years, Anniah caught the couple in bed.

“When we told our father, he dismissed us, believing we wanted to destroy his marriage. He demanded tangible proof,” she said.

Determined to uncover the truth, Anniah and her siblings set a trap for Chimbiti and Musasa before informing their father, who witnessed their illicit relationship three days later.

“Even then, he did not believe us because he loved her so much. We suspected she was also involved with our uncle Masaka after receiving a tip-off. When we summoned our uncle Masaka to catch Musasa in the act, he was devastated.

“He could not believe the woman he was cheating with was also cheating with the man she had disguised as a tenant. Finding Chimbiti and Musasa intoxicated in the bedroom left him speechless,” she said.

Masaka confirmed that he found Chimbiti and Musasa in bed when summoned.

“I have been involved with her despite her marriage to my brother-in-law. I cannot say much, but it is true. My wife discovered steamy love chats on my WhatsApp,” he admitted.

Chimbiti vehemently denied the allegations, accusing Anniah and Masaka of framing her.

She claimed Anniah and her siblings had harboured resentment since her marriage to their father over a decade ago. She denied any knowledge of the love messages presented in court.

“Musasa was indeed our tenant and he was drunk when found in my bedroom. I do not know who sent those messages. It could be a trickster who took advantage of my drunkenness. I am a heavy drinker,” she claimed.

Masaka’s confession shocked Mutamiswa, who had stood by his wife.

“Even when my daughters told me, I thought they were trying to break up our marriage. I was stunned when my sister revealed my wife’s affair with her husband,” he said. — Manica Post

Man named ‘Pondai’ allegedly kills brother

“What is in a name?” they say.

Often, names given to children by their parents cast long shadows, shaping lives in unexpected ways. Some individuals seem to embody the very essence of their names, their destinies intertwined with their meanings.

This can manifest in both positive and negative outcomes, as certain names might inadvertently predispose individuals to particular challenges or expectations.

For example, the name Pondai, literally meaning “savagely killing or hammering someone”, manifested in a negative outcome when Pondai Nyoni (43) from Siamputeni 2 village, under Chief Sinamagombe Lusulu in Binga, Matabeleland North province, is alleged to have brutally killed his younger brother Albert (32) with an axe.

Following a yet-to-be-determined argument, Pondai allegedly struck him on the forehead with the back of the axe before dragging him out of the house.

There, he reportedly struck him once with the back of the axe on the right ear and once on the right side of the neck with the sharp edge of the weapon.

Allegations are that on July 28, around 1am, at his homestead, he had an altercation with his younger brother Albert.

While the source of the argument remains unclear, there are indications that it stemmed from a misunderstanding between Pondai’s younger brother and his wife.

The brother reportedly brought his daughter, aged one year and eight months, to Pondai’s house.

This reportedly upset Pondai, leading to an argument between the two. It is alleged that, at the height of the argument, Pondai grabbed an axe from the now-deceased brother.

After disarming him, he allegedly struck him once on the forehead with the back of the axe before dragging him out of the house. He further struck him with the back of the axe once on the right ear, and once on the right side of the neck with the sharp edge of the weapon.

Albert reportedly died at the scene.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to Pondai’s arrest. For the gruesome murder, Pondai has since appeared before Binga resident magistrate Victor Mpofu, charged with murder.

Woman kidnaps, assaults husband’s lover

A 23-year-old woman from the Sizinda suburb in Bulawayo allegedly went on a rampage, robbing and kidnapping her husband’s 17-year-old lover.

Amanda Ngwenya appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza on two charges — robbery and kidnapping. She pleaded not guilty and was released from custody.

During the trial, the victim claimed she was threatened by the suspect, who was accompanied by her aunt.

“I got a call from Ngwenya and she asked me to meet her up at Bellevue Shopping Centre. When I got there, she snatched my cellphone and asked me if I was her husband’s girlfriend. I denied the allegations because I am not in a relationship with her husband.

“She assaulted me, grabbed my hair, threatened to beat and kill me, stating that she was not afraid of anyone. She detained me in her house in Sizinda until the following morning,” she said.

The State alleges that on May 31, 2024, around 6pm, Ngwenya lured the victim to Bellevue Shopping Centre under the pretence of discussing her relationship with Ngwenya’s husband.

During their conversation, Ngwenya forcefully seized the victim’s cellphone and demanded she accompany her to Emganwini suburb. When the victim refused, Ngwenya physically assaulted her, slapping and punching her, before dragging her against her will.

Upon reaching Emganwini, Ngwenya’s brother intervened and ordered her to release the victim.

However, Ngwenya disregarded this and took the victim to her home in Sizinda, where she held her captive until the following morning.

The victim was eventually released and reported the incident to her sister, who then contacted the police. Ngwenya was subsequently arrested. — B-Metro
