A 68-year-old man from Chitungwiza who allegedly connived with his two other siblings to forge their 50 — year — old sister’s signature and sold their parents’ house without her knowledge appeared in court charged with fraud. Zuluya Jackson of 14929 Unit O, Chitungwiza, was kicked out of the house by the new owner on April 15 this year who claimed to have bought her parents’ house.
Zuluya told the court that the “new owners” did not show her any eviction papers from the Messenger of Court to substantiate their claims.
This was after her brother Pheneas of Kuora Village in Seke allegedly authored an affidavit with his two other siblings still at large and forged their sister’s signature to be granted permission to sell the house by the High Court.
The house belonged to their parents and Pheneas allegedly sold it for $10 000.
After she was kicked out, Zuluya relocated to another place and when she returned to collect her remaining belongings, she found some of them destroyed.
She went to the High Court with the forged documents to verify who had entered into that transaction without her knowledge.
The court heard that she was advised that her other siblings did it.
She confronted Pheneas who allegedly admitted to have committed the offence with the other two and offered her her share and refused.
The matter was reported to the police leading to his arrest.
Appearing before Chitungwiza magistrate, Ms Jessy Kufa, Pheneas denied two counts of forgery and fraud and was remanded to today.
Mr Innocent Tizirai prosecuted.
