Siblings kill brother-in-law over their sisters belongings

A  MISUNDERSTANDING turned into murder after two brothers assaulted their brother in-law over their sister’s property in Harare.

In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said  on 6 July Shadreck Mukono(24) and John Mukono (31) proceeded to the now deceased’s home in Glendale with the intention of collecting their sister’s belongings.  Their sister was the now deceased’s estranged wife and they were in the process of a divorce.

The duo had a misunderstanding with the now deceased at his home when he told them that he needed someone to witness the process of handing over his wife’s belongings. This did not go down well the accused persons who allegedly assaulted kicked the now deceased all over the body and hit him with sticks.

A Police report was made and the now deceased was referred to Concession Hospital where he was treated and discharged. His condition deteriorated on the 7 July and he was ferried to Bindura Provincial Hospital where he passed away on 8July.

The Mukono brothers were remanded out of custody to 20 August.
