In recognition of his contribution and dedication to the gospel industry, Everton Mlalazi was recently honoured by the Southern African Indian Ocean Division (SID) Youth Department of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The ceremony was held in Gaborone, Botswana at the SID Youth Department Public Campus Ministries Conference on July 2 this year.

The SID is a sub-entity of the General Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists, which coordinates the Church’s activities in the southern portion of Africa and is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa.

The artist expressed his excitement at receiving recognition from his church.

“It really means a lot getting recognition by your own church and at a regional level, and this means the church appreciates our contribution to music in the church and out of it,” he said.

Mlalazi acknowledged his manager and family for their unwavering support through his musical journey.

“I also wish to acknowledge The Vine, Worship Therapy Band, RHI Media and Music production team led by (first name) Nyangombe for their contribution to my ministry,’’ he said
