Signing ceremony in pictures as Karo Platinum project moves closer to production

President Mnangagwa today witnessed the signing of a 25-year Special Mining Lease Agreement between the Government of Zimbabwe and Karo Platinum Private Limited at State House.

The agreement, signed by Mines and Mining Development Minister Polite Kambamura and Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube, provides the platinum project with security of tenure and fiscal certainty needed to move towards production.

The project’s first phase of production, expected in the second half of next year, is projected to create more than 1 000 jobs and produce about 226 000 ounces of platinum annually.
