FC Platinum 1-2 Simba Bhora

HOME side FC Platinum were defeated for the second time in a row in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie played at Mandava Stadium yesterday.

The home team went into the match hoping for a win after an embarrassing home loss to Sheasham FC last week and yesterday they could not stop desperate for maximum points Simba Bhora from driving back to Shamva victorious. Last week FC Platinum lost 2-1 to their fellow Midlanders.

Buoyed on by a cheering brass band Simba Bhora FC shot into the lead early in the first half when in the sixth minute Tinashe Balakasi’s effort found the target. FC Platinum enjoyed good ball possession and equalised through Nomore Chinyerere in the 13 minute. It was his first goal for the club since joining the platinum miners in 2020.

On the 20th minute FC Platinum came close through a freekick after Balakasi had fouled a home team player outside the box. Walter Musona missed two clear chances in the 36th and 39th minutes leaving the game tied as they went to half time.

A minute into the second half Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya missed a clear chance. After a good interchange of passes Simba Bhora FC scored their second goal through Tymon Machope a few minutes later.
In the 60th minute FC Platinum made a double substitution. In came Jarrison Selemani and Brian Banda for Juan Mutudza and Misheck Ngwenya.

A live wired Selemani changed the game as FC Platinum attacked from then up to the final whistle. Selemani missed a long range shot three minutes after his entry that got the supporters off their seats.

After the match angry FC Platinum fans demanded answers from Norman Mapeza.FC Platinum are sixth on the log with 26 points and the defending champions have lost six matches. Simba Bhora lie 12th on the log with 20 points.
