Simba Bhora president, Simba ‘Buju’ Ndoro, has refuted claims that they have signed three top players.
The miners are being commended for signing FC Platinum’s Walter Musona, Junior Makunike of Dynamos and Bulawayo Chiefs’ Billy Veremu.
The team’s official Facebook page confirmed this development, leaving social media abuzz. Ndoro told Zimpapers Sports that there is no truth in that Facebook post.
He said their official account was hacked two months ago and he is now fearing the worst. However, he conceded to be in talks with these players. But he said the post might have ruined their slim hopes.
“We have not signed anyone at the moment, it’s just unfortunate that there is someone who is spreading these lies using our Facebook page which was hacked two months ago.
“We are still trying to figure out the best way to get our page back, but the public and our supporters have the right to know that we have not signed anyone.
“We reached out to Musona’s camp and they told us what they are expecting, and we are still negotiating, but they also called us after learning from social media that he has joined our team.
“We are now sounding unprofessional because Makunike is still a Dynamos player and we have no power to unveil him as our new recruit, and this is likely going to ruin our negotiation process,” said Ndoro.
Ndoro also said they have not parted ways with any player in their camp at the moment.
“We haven’t ended our relationship with any player, but in football, that’s normal, it happens every season.
“But we are still considering many things before making that decision, we have given our coach the freedom to assess those who are available on the market before parting ways with some of the players who helped us last season.
“We want our supporters to know the truth,” he said.
Musona has also been linked with a move to Dynamos.
There has also been a possibility of a return to South Africa’s DSTV Premiership where Kaizer Chiefs are said to be interested.
But all the signs in the picture are not showing any chance of him extending his stay at Mandava.
Makunike was given his Premiership debut by Ndiraya two seasons ago.
Dynamos are believed to have doubled what they had initially offered the highly rated midfielder.
It remains to be seen if Makunike will stay with the Glamour Boys, but a huge section of the team’s fans are challenging DeMbare’s leadership to meet his demands.
Meanwhile, Tanaka Shandirwa’s season-long loan deal has expired and he is expected to return to his parent club, Yadah.
