The South African-based designer has made a name for himself by making tailor-made suits that have impressed his clients.
Sibanda said he started designing after seeing that shops were failing to meet the demand for suits.
“I realised that sometimes you do not find clothes you want to wear be it size or colour and that made me decide that I wanted to be a designer,” Sibanda said.
He worked together with his wife Lwazikazi Sibanda to start her own label, Sean Cutter Icon Bespoke, which has been well received and is now catering for different retail shops in Mzansi.
Sibanda was one of the local designers, who showcased their works at the just-ended Zimbabwe Fashion Week.
Like many of his fellow designers, Sibanda said the fashion fair afforded him an opportunity to show the world what he is capable of doing.
“I was happy to be part of the fashion extravaganza and I hope many people liked my designs,” he said.
He urged local fashionistas to move along with time and embrace the trend of wearing suits that are tailor made.
“Upcoming designers should be patient when designing and need not rush to put their apparels on the market,” he said.
“I urge fashion lovers to attend the Zimbabwe Fashion Week and see fashion designing being taken to another level,” Sibanda said.
Born in Bulawayo, Sibanda did his primary education at Robert Tredghold Primary School. He later proceeded to Mpopoma High school where he did his A-Levels. After finishing high school, Sibanda enrolled at Zimbabwe Open University where he did an honours degree in English and Communication Studies.
