ZIMBABWE’S Vikram Singh from Harare Table Tennis Association will be expected to defend his China Zimbabwe table tennis tournament title when he squares off with Wang Liping in today’s men finals at Belvedere Teachers College.

Singh won the first edition of the tournament last year and has managed to make it all the way to the final this year again.

Liping will feature in the final for the first time after he was eliminated in the semi-finals last year. The tournament, which began yesterday, will end today with all the finals of men, women and the doubles.

Last year China dominated proceedings by winning both the men and doubles finals while Zimbabwe won the women finals.

Zhan Yang will meet Zimbabwe’s Vimbai Makuvaza in the women’s final expected to be a thriller.

Yang is the defending champion while Midlands State University student Makuvaza will be fighting to grab the title.
