FROM dishing street wisdom in skits to dropping punchlines on prime-time radio, Bulawayo’s Sipho Mercent Nyathi is now running the airwaves full throttle!
Known for his hilarious and no-holds-barred Indaba Zabantu content on social media, Nyathi has taken his street-smart charm to Skyz Metro FM, where he now co-hosts the Matabeleland Metro Drive every weekday.
“It’s wild being on air,” Nyathi told B-Metro. “Back in the Radio Dialogue days, Zenzele Ndebele kept telling me to try radio, but I stuck to street theatre. Now look at me, behind the mic and loving every second!”
Nyathi first dipped his toe into radio waters last year with Madlela Skhobokhobo on Friday Ziyakhithika, the same show that gave Bulawayo street sensation Talent his big radio break. Since then, Nyathi has been turning up the heat during drive-time, blending music, comedy, and spicy city talk.
But that’s not all. Sipho isn’t done with just radio. The man is about to drop his Indaba Zabantu podcast, promising raw, unfiltered stories straight from the community.
“It’s gonna be real, funny, and full of vibe,” he teased. “The podcast will take our conversations beyond the studio, same hustle, same people, same fire.”

Sipho’s star has been on a steep upward trajectory since he burst on the scene with widely popular rib-ticklers on social media.
He recently sprinted past the 100k followers in just 12 months on Facebook and continues pushing influencer boundaries, showing talent can open even the doors of fort Knox, with consistency.
Whenever Sipho posts something on social media, within minutes, comments and likes would have exceeded 100 showing his unrivalled popularity.
His meteoritic rise has not been lost on businesses that re falling over each other to hitch a ride on the bandwagon of his popularity.
Businesses that include Blessed Auto Deals, Blessed Fashions, Ndori Ndori Phones Shop, KoSamuriwo and Ekhaya Takeways have already grabbed onto his coat tails to advertise their product to his legion of followers.
“I want to thank Zimbabwe and my fans abroad for helping me to grow and use my God-given talent,” he said.
From parking lots to playlists, Sipho is showing that hustle knows no borders. Whether he’s roasting social issues or pumping local jams, Indaba Zabantu has evolved into an irresistible juggernaut of top class entertainment and education.
