SOUTH AFRICAN Amapiano sensation Sir Trill, affectionately known as The Ghost, sent Bulawayo into festive overdrive with a high-energy performance at a popular pub in the city’s high-density suburb of Luveve, in the early hours of Unity Day celebrations on Monday.
The packed show once again underscored the strong appetite for South African music in the City of Kings, as revellers turned out in huge numbers to celebrate in style.
By as early as 8pm on Sunday, the venue was already buzzing. Laughter, dancing and raised glasses set the tone as partygoers eagerly awaited the arrival of the Amapiano hitmaker.
When Sir Trill finally took to the stage at 12:15am, the crowd erupted into thunderous cheers. He wasted no time, rolling out a string of crowd favourites that had fans singing along word for word.
The VIP and VVIP sections were filled to capacity, while the general area became a sea of raised hands and swaying bodies, with revellers soaking up the festive mood. Sir Trill’s smooth vocals and infectious beats proved irresistible, pulling even the most reserved patrons onto the dance floor.

As the night progressed, the energy only intensified, with Sir Trill showcasing why Amapiano continues to dominate dance floors across the region.
Speaking after his performance, The Ghost said Bulawayo always brings out the best in South African artistes.
“I was overwhelmed with joy. The people of Bulawayo are so lively. They sang all the songs with me, showing how much they follow our music,” he said.
Fans responded with loud chants and cheers, showering the artiste with appreciation.
“This is what we needed — great music and great vibes!” shouted one excited reveller.
The night was capped off by resident DJ Mzoe, who kept the festive spirit alive until sunrise. As dawn approached and the crowd slowly dispersed, there was a shared sense of fulfilment. Bulawayo had partied hard and Unity Day had been ushered in with style.
“The crowd was electric, with limited space to sit. It was all about dancing,” said one patron, Nonoza.
“I wasn’t expecting such an attendance. I’ve never seen so many people at the joint, all enjoying themselves,” said event organiser, Brian Samuriwo, who promised to deliver more by bringing artistes who truly connect with patrons.
