TWO Plumtree sisters, married to one man, decided that enough was enough and teamed up to discipline their husband’s side chick in a brutal midnight ambush that left her battered and bleeding.
In what villagers have described as “the unity of pain,” Cynthia Tshuma (25) and Tatenda Majoni (26) stormed the home of their husband’s alleged mistress, Grace Ndlovu, in Batanani Village at night on 6 October.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the magistrate court at Plumtree that the duo arrived just after 7PM, shouting and accusing Ndlovu of destroying their polygamous peace. In the blink of an eye, the war of words degenerated into a violent showdown.
The furious women rained blows on the side chick, striking her all over the body with switches.
Things took a darker turn when Tshuma reportedly stabbed Ndlovu in the back with a screwdriver while Majoni continued to lash her, ignoring her screams.
The beaten mistress was left with multiple bruises and a swollen face. Villagers said the incident turned the usually quiet settlement into a war zone as the two wives “fought for their man like soldiers defending a border.”
The violent pair were summoned to appear before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware but failed to show up, leading to their immediate arrest.
