DYNAMOS and Black Rhinos Under-15 teams will resume their rivalry in this year’s edition of the Heroes Day Junior Soccer Invitational tournament.
The tourney will be held in Chitungwiza today.
The tournament will feature six Under-13 and Under-15 teams namely Dynamos, Black Rhinos, Harare City, Friendly Academy, Classic Academy and Koala.
Tournament organiser, Tendai “T-Bunz” Zhakata, said they were looking forward to a successful tournament and everything was in place.
“We are looking forward to host the annual Heroes Day Juniors Invitational soccer tournament on Monday.
“The tournament is aimed at taking the youths away from drugs and substance abuse. Apart from celebrating the country’s heroes, we will also be promoting wellness.
“We are looking forward to having some partners and sponsors for the tournament.
“There will be medals and a floating trophy for the winners as well as player of the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament and top goal-scorer awards.”
“The tournament is in celebration of the Heroes holiday.
“Part of our theme is to celebrate Heroes Day but also make sure that youths from our society can come together in a very relaxed atmosphere and talk about things that affect them as young men,” said Zhakata.
