Sky is limit for Packers International

country to satisfy our Zimbabwean market, before expanding our unique and diverse food products into the African market in the long term,” said Group Chief Executive Officer Tawanda Mutyebere.
Packers International is a registered Zimbabwean ultra-modern food outlet that has four brands under its wing, namely Chicken Slice, Pizza Slice, Creamy Slice and Slice Express.
The company is among the subsidiaries of Con Tools Holdings, a construction company that brings together Packers International, Blossom Pride and Gas Africa.

The first branch was opened last year in Mvuma and has been serving travellers along the Harare-Masvingo highway, mouthwatering varieties of pizza, chicken and chips, all supplied from the local market, and the creamiest and smoothest ice-cream.
The second foot outlet, opened in March this year, is located at the corner of Mbuya Nehanda Street and Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, and is conveniently near commuter omnibuses plying routes that include Warren

Park, Norton, Mount Pleasant, Dzivarasekwa and Kuwadzana among others.
In line with Packers International vision of cutting across the Zimbabwean market, yet another branch will be unveiled today along the busy Samora Machel Avenue at the corner of Seventh Street.
Likewise, it too is strategically positioned as it is stationed near a filling station, providing easy access to customers who will want to stimulate their taste buds as they wait for their cars to be refuelled.
Mr Mutyebere said he had realised that the food industry had slackened with regard to the provision of innovative food products, hence the decision to diversify from his core business of construction and offer services that would fill that void.

“As an entrepreneur, I was looking for a cash cow and so I decided to venture into the food industry after the realisation that even though there were many players in the industry, people are always in the knack for searching for innovate and better products, so that is what I decided to offer them.
“Packers International thus aims to provide superior quality and delicious food in a clean and cheerful environment that is topped off by superior service provision by our highly trained and groomed staff,” said Mr Mutyebere.

That is why, Mr Mutyebere said, Packers International motto was “Delicious Slice of the day”.
Based on this dictum, the ultra-modern food outlets have received an overwhelming response to their products, largely due to their innovative, unique and diverse product range.
“Our products are well received and I must point out that we have had an awesome response to our food range since the company’s inception last year.

“We have made great inroads in the local market and continue to do so and our customers’ positive response to our food is testimony enough that we are treading on the right track,” he said.
Mr Mutyebere pointed out the many advantages associated with the use of Packers International products saying the main advantage was that the food offered could be enjoyed by people of all classes and backgrounds due to its relatively reasonable pricing structure.

He added that the company also provides a range of fast food and restaurant services for different tastes and preferences.
“Packers International food products are not price discriminatory, instead they are price sensitive so as to cut across all social classes. This ensures that everyone is catered for and can have a chance to enjoy our products.

“Another bonus is that we offer both fast food and restaurant services so that those who are in a hurry can simply order over the counter and get immediate service while those who are in a relaxing mood can also get a chance to sit down and savour every morsel,” he said.
To add on to Packers International advantages is the fact that it provides food fit for consumption by the whole family as evidenced by the measures put in place to accommodate infants through the provision of baby high chairs.

Mr Mutyebere said one of Packers International strengths was the strategic positioning of it branches, which are conveniently located in the CBD, near bus terminuses, filling stations and also in the outskirts, enabling everyone to be conveniently supplied by their delicious food products at any given time.
“I believe that it is important to strategically position businesses at points where they can conveniently cater to the services of all customers,” said the entrepreneur.

Packers International is highly esteemed for its extremely hygienic and smart environment that is topped off by its friendly and customer responsiveness staff.
Furthermore, its up-to-standard packaging reflects the equally proportional quantities giving customers value for their hard-earned money while the Call Slice Service Delivery ensures free delivery of services to customers within the Central Business District.

Exceptions are, however, given to customers with large orders but are situated outside the city’s periphery.
In line with his excellent business acumen, Mr Mutyebere was awarded the ZNCC Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010 for the Midlands province.
