SMEs fully geared as trade fair starts

The exhibition starts today until Saturday under the theme: Optimising Business Synergies Now and Beyond.

In an interview, an official from the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Co-operative Development said they were eagerly awaiting the event.

“We are very much prepared for this year’s exhibition and so far we have 20 SMEs that the ministry has sponsored and we have two SMEs from each province,” he said.

The official said they managed to get 10 stands at the ZITF grounds and each of the 20 SMEs was paying $50.

“The SMEs are going to exhibit leather products, clothing, cosmetics, and agricultural and art products.

“Last year 21 SMEs were sponsored by the ministry and they benefited a lot.

“Most of them benefited a lot because they got a chance to be publicised, learn from others, share ideas with other SMEs and from tourists.

“Some even got a lot of money and managed to expand their businesses and we hope this will also happen to these SMEs.”
