The fashion show and dinner themed “A Night of All Things Glamorous and Elegant” will be held at the CIPF Centre, popularly known as Bradlows Building, on 29 September from 5pm. On 28 September another fashion show, Evolve 12 Fashion Show, will be held at the Bulawayo Club.
In an interview yesterday, organiser of the show, Beke Noko said the show, which will have a mini trade fair, is a platform for small businesses to network and share ideas. She said the mini fair was open to all those involved in entertainment and events management.
“We want the following — venue operators, cake makers, hairdressers, bar owners, beauty spas, those in décor, DJs, photographers and those in video production. These will be given a stand at the venue to advertise their businesses, for a nominal fee,” said Noko.
She said 20 models would participate in the fashion show as part of the entertainment.
“The fashion show will have 20 models, 10 male and 10 female, who will showcase their talents on stage and fashion designers have been engaged to display what collections they have. This is a fashion show and mini trade fair for local businesses,” said Noko.
She said the fashion show also caters for those who want to see the latest in bridal wear.
“We are hosting a bridal fashion show also. The dinner will be held on the first floor and the fashion show will be on the ground floor. The function is to increase the market exposure for small businesses and the dinner will be to help in the networking.”
She said the local small to medium businesses had no platform to network and find business in the city.
That is why they decided to have such a show.
“We realised that in Bulawayo there were no platforms for small to medium businesses to network and share ideas. You can find a situation where when I am looking for hats for women to wear at weddings I go and order them in South Africa, but someone is making the same hats in the city. So this is why we want to have this mini trade fair so that small to medium business people connect with each other,” said Noko.
She said all those who are interested should come to Vhomakadzi situated on the ground floor of the CIPF Centre for more details.
