SNEAKER FREAKS UNITE. . . Byo Expo set to blow minds with style, beats and kicks

SNEAKER heads and fashion enthusiasts are set to be treated to a fresh and dynamic experience as this year’s Byo Sneakers Expo to be held on 19 October at Mystique Gardens, promises an event filled with a cocktail of fashion, music and dance.

The expo will showcase material from local designers and emerging brands, at the same time allowing those in attendance to learn everything about sneakers, from expects who will give deeper insights into sneaker culture and fashion trends.

A massive line-up of artistes is expected to give patrons good time on their sets. These include Sway THB, Curtis Dee Rovar, Dr Breezy, Black Ops, Don Milo, Stolen Pieces Runway, Brintz, , as well as Frosty Swit.

Other finest wheel spinners who will rotate on decks are DJ Nospa Chekaz, Sibbs Apollo, Umlungu Omnyama, Kotswane Hikwa, Nizhe DeSoul and Mdast Khalfala.

One of the organisers of the Expo Mlamuli Moyo said they have learnt a lot from previous editions and this particular one will be much improved.

“Every year, we push the boundaries a little further. We’ve learnt so much about our community and what they love and we’re determined to create an even more engaging environment each time.

“Everyone who attends the expo must learn a thing or two about sneakers and fashion and this year, we will have different expectations who will be giving us lessons on sneaker wear and on how to distinguish between a fake and original,” Moyo.

The Bulawayo Sneaker Expo is a dynamic event that brings together sneaker enthusiasts, collectors, entrepreneurs, and brands to showcase, buy, sell and celebrate the latest in footwear culture and trends.

The movement started in 2021, and it has proved to be more than just a fashion event, as it has become a celebration of style, culture, creativity and expression.

Over the past five years, it has strategically positioned itself as Zimbabwe’s only event dedicated to sneaker culture and in doing so, it has cultivated a loyal following of enthusiasts eager to express themselves through footwear and fashion.

As the date approaches, local influencers, stylists and sneaker aficionados are gearing up to showcase their best looks and most prized pairs. The expo promises to once again burst with colour, creativity and culture, celebrating sneaker design and the stories, people and passion behind it.
