Social soccer league fireworks on the cards

Mandla Moyo, Sports Correspondent

Fireworks are expected this morning at Emakhandeni Community ground when Bulawayo Social Soccer League (BSSL) champions Emakhandeni United, aka Man U, take on Cowdray Park Masters in a league match.

George Sibanda, one of Masters senior players believes that the match will be tough, as their opponents have a lot of experienced players, and some of them played in the Premier Soccer League.

“This is going to be a tough match because Emakhandeni have a lot of experienced players. However, I think energy wise, it will work for us,” he said.

As part of the team’s strategy to contain their opponents, Sibanda said being first on the ball while shutting out their key players will be their aim.

“We will try to be always first on the ball and make sure that Abraham Mubaiwa and Kwee are under lock and key, then hit them on the counter attacks,” added Sibanda.

From their previous encounters, Man U have always come out tops. Another match that has all the ingredients to provide a thriller is the game between Hyde Park and Pool B pacesetters 94 Strivers at Hyde  Park shops.  Charity Dube, Strivers’ assistant coach said he was looking forward to a good game.

“Combinations are now working and I expect a tough game because every team playing log leaders usually comes prepared to fight all the way,” explained Dube.
