Socialite Patricia Jeke, known as “Patricia Jack” on social media, has been convicted of contravening the Cyber and Data Protection Act for cyberbullying Shingirirai Ziwange.
Sentencing is scheduled for today.
The court heard that Jeke posted insults and falsehoods about the complainant on her social media timeline.
During the previous sitting, a police cyber expert testified and linked Jeke to WhatsApp and Facebook posts cited as exhibits in the case.
According to the State, on 9 February this year, Jeke sent a WhatsApp message to Ziwange accusing the complainant of posting about her online.
Although Ziwange denied the allegation, Jeke allegedly went on to post on social media that the complainant was having extramarital affairs.
Jeke also called Ziwange a “witch” and hurled other insults at her.
