A man from Bulawayo has riled his mother after he accused her of bewitching his two children.
Ruramai Ditima started accusing his mother Chipo Ditima of witchcraft after he consulted a prophet, who told him that she was the one behind their sickness.
After being told this, he ordered her to vacate the family house. As if that was not enough, Ruramai also bashed his mother.
The mother tried to engage a close relative to talk to him but her efforts were in vain.
She then reported Ruramai to the police, where he was warned against verbally and physically abusing her.
According to Chipo, her son briefly stopped abusing her. He later reverted to his old habits, and started threatening to kill her.
The mother then went to court and applied for a protection order.
“My name is Chipo Ditima. I’m living in fear of my son, who is always accusing me of having bewitched his two children.
“Whenever we have an argument, he bashes and insults me, while labelling me a witch. He also wants me to move out of the family house. I’m now living in fear as he always threatens to kill me,” lamented Chipo.
In response, Ruramai admitted that he bashed his mother and insulted her.
He said the abuse started after he consulted a prophet, who told him that she was the one who was bewitching his children.
The presiding magistrate granted a protection order in Chipo’s favour.
Ruramai was ordered not to physically and verbally abuse his mother, and not to evict her from the family house. — B-Metro

Man gets wife arrested on satanism claims
A Kitwe man identified as Boyd Bwalya took his wife to the police, claiming she was a satanist.
Bwalya caught his wife with huge sums of money amounting to K2 500 000.
He had also witnessed her conducting unusual “rituals”.
One of the wife’s workers at a boutique tipped off Bwalya, and asked him to pass through her workplace for further revelations.
He left his wife at home, sleeping, and headed to the boutique, where he found weird items in her office.
Bwalya then went to the nearest police station and had his wife arrested.
He is planning to divorce her as he cannot believe what he saw and the kind of money his wife has been hiding from him.
He suspects she could be the one behind the death of their only children (twins), as one of the dolls used for rituals resembled his children, who died in an accident two years ago. — Wires
