WHEN it comes to football passion, the English Premier League has no chill — and neither do its fans!
From Twitter trolls to delusional diehards, some supporters turn every win into an unbearable victory parade and every loss into a global conspiracy theory.
A 2024 survey by GiveMeSport, conducted online with over 5 000 football fans, asked the simple question: “Which EPL club has the most annoying fans on social media?”
The results are in — and some clubs need to take a long, hard look at themselves. Here’s the official ranking of the biggest wind-up merchants in the EPL!

1. Liverpool – The Professional Victims (19.9%)
Always wronged, never responsible!
Liverpool fans claimed the top spot with 19.9% of the votes. Whether it’s referees, VAR, the weather, or “bad vibes,” there’s always an excuse.
Lose a game? “Blame VAR!”
Win a game? “Best team in the world, mate!” A Reddit fan summed it up best: “The only fanbase that acts like the world owes them a Premier League title every year.”
Even a bad throw-in against them sparks online petitions!

2. Arsenal – Delusion FC (19.6%)
Just behind Liverpool, Arsenal fans pulled 19.6% of the votes for Most Annoying. If you think Arsenal are the underdogs, just ask their fans — they’ll tell you they’re the best team in Europe after every 2-0 win over Bournemouth. West Ham’s Michail Antonio slammed them, saying:
“They are delusional. Every year it’s ‘this is our year!’” Between endless Twitter hype and dramatic meltdowns on AFTV, Arsenal fans have become must-watch comedy gold.
3. Manchester United – Entitlement FC (15.4%)
Third place goes to United’s army of eternally entitled fans.
15.4% of voters said United fans are the worst for expecting trophies every season, even when they’re getting cooked by Brentford and Brighton. Lose to Luton Town?
“Sack the manager!”
Beat Forest 2-1?
“WE’RE BACK, BABY!”
One Redditor didn’t mince words:
“More deluded than a man on a desert island claiming he’s at a spa.”

4. Chelsea – Banter Bullies (9.5%)
Chelsea fans finished 4th with 9.5% — and boy, do they deserve it.
Their favourite online hobby is flashing their Champions League medals like a drunk uncle showing off an old trophy. Argue about anything? They’ll hit you with: “TWO Champions Leagues. You?” Reddit summed it up: “Trying to reason with a Chelsea fan is like playing chess with a pigeon.”
5. Manchester City – Silent but Deadly (8.0%)
City fans might not spam your mentions — but their smugness could drown a small country.
8.0% of respondents said City fans were unbearably smug online, flexing trophies while pretending they don’t care.
Their comeback to every debate?
“Check the trophy cabinet, mate.”
Problem is, nobody really notices because most of their stadium is empty by the 80th minute!
Other Notorious
Fanbases:
* Tottenham (Spurs): Famous for bottling trophies… and celebrating other teams’ failures harder than their own wins. (Remember them Poznan-dancing when Man City beat Arsenal?)
* Leeds United: Fierce, loyal… and sometimes just feral.
* Newcastle United: Suddenly acting like royalty after that Saudi oil money dropped.
* West Ham: All cockney talk, no cups.

* Brighton: New kids on the block — but already getting cocky.
Survey Details:

* Date: March 2024

In the brutal battleground of English football, it’s not just players getting tackles — it’s fanbases getting roasted! Some fans win trophies. Some fans win respect.
And some just win the Most Annoying Award — week after week after week!
