A TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD mother of two is appealing for financial assistance to meet medical expenses after sustaining life-threatening spinal injuries in a road accident on December 28.
Ms Rashael Konde was injured in Chegutu and is currently bedridden at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare.
She fractured her spine, just below the neck and is now awaiting to undergo a life-saving operation.
Ms Konde needs to have a metal plate inserted into her spine so that she can have a chance at ever walking again. However, she needs US$3 200 for the surgery to be done, which she does not have.
“I am appealing to well-wishers to assist me with raising the US$3 200 needed by the doctors to perform the surgery. The longer I take to have this surgery, the lower my chances of ever walking. If they discharge me without the operation, I might not survive. I pray that Zimbabweans out there will hear my plea and come to my rescue,” she said.
Since the accident, Ms Konde has lost feeling from the chest down and doctors have warned that the surgery will be her only hope to recover.
So far her family has managed to raise US$500 which will be directed towards her surgery.
Those that wish to assist can contact Mr Batsirai Nyamombe on mobile number 0773 063 819.
