SOUTH Africa Women will tour Zimbabwe for the first time, with the two sides set to meet in their maiden bilateral T20I cricket series.
The visitors will be led by regular captain Laura Wolvaardt and will feature several new faces, including three uncapped players.
Seamer Caitlin Wyngaard impressed for SA Emerging Women during their recent series against Bangladesh Emerging Women.
The 21-year-old has earned her maiden national call-up alongside former SA Under-19 Women player Nthabiseng Nini and off-spinner Luyanda Nzuza, who also produced standout performances for the Emerging side.
The uncapped trio will be joined by Faye Tunnicliffe, Anneke Bosch, Ayanda Hlubi, Eliz-Mari Marx, Seshnie Naidu, Nondumiso Shangase and Miané Smit, all of whom missed out on the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England.
Also included are wicketkeeper-batters Sinalo Jafta and Karabo Meso, as well as all-rounders Kayla Reyneke and Annerie Dercksen.
The five-match T20I series will be played from September 11 to 19 at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
