THE Zifa Southern Region has rolled out the red carpet for four outstanding performers who rose above the rest to claim the August monthly awards in the Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League.
The quartet, Gatsi Mukombwe, Khulekani “Jazi” Dube, Thabile “Putilli” Zulu and Ian Mositafa, were rewarded for their consistency, influence and individual brilliance during a month that served up plenty of drama and fierce competition.
Talen Vision enjoyed a particularly memorable August, producing two of the four award winners.
Mukombwe was named Coach of the Month, in recognition of the work he has done in guiding Talen Vision through a demanding stretch of the campaign and keeping the club firmly in the title race.
His award comes at a crucial juncture of the season, with Talen Vision locked in a fascinating battle for honours at the summit alongside Hwange.
Mukombwe’s tactical nous and ability to keep his charges focused have been key ingredients in Talen Vision’s impressive campaign.
His clubmate Dube was equally impressive and walked away with the Goalkeeper of the Month accolade.
The shot-stopper’s performances between the posts have given Talen Vision a dependable last line of defence, highlighting the club’s strength at both ends of the pitch as the title race gathers momentum.
At Njube Spurs, Zulu’s goalscoring exploits earned him the Top Goalscorer of the Month award.
The forward’s eye for goal has made him one of the attacking players to watch in the Southern Region, with his finishing providing Njube Spurs with a valuable source of goals.
The fourth accolade went to Vic Falls City Herentals forward Mositafa, who was voted Player of the Month.
Mositafa’s influential displays stood out in a highly competitive field and earned him recognition as one of the league’s outstanding performers during August.
The four individual awards underline the growing quality and competitiveness of the Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League, where players and coaches continue to chase both team success and personal glory.
Congratulating the winners, Zifa Southern Region said in a brief statement: “Congratulations to our August winners.”
The recognition is likely to provide another shot of motivation to the four recipients as the season enters its decisive phase, when every point, goal and save assumes even greater significance.
For Mukombwe, Dube, Zulu and Mositafa, August has certainly turned out to be a month worth remembering.
