THE Zifa Southern Region Division One League action will on Saturday enter into round 20 with log leaders ZPC Hwange set to take on Zebra Revolution at White City B Arena on Saturday.
Last weekend, the power generators thumped former Castle Lager Premier Soccer League outfit Zimbabwe Saints in a tie that was played at Chakona ground.
ZPC Hwange are now on a massive 51 points tally, 15 ahead of second placed Casymn who are this weekend set to take on Bulawayo City at Turkmine. Bruised Zimbabwe Saints will take on Victoria Falls City at White City Stadium while Nkayi United do duty against Ajax Hotspurs.
Ajax Hotspurs anchor the log standings with 11 points, five behind second from the bottom placed Mosi Rovers. Nkayi United, who under the guidance of ex-Highlanders and Zimbabwe Saints striker Chipo Tsodzo, are third on the table with 32 points, one ahead of Chauya Chikwata.
Adachi FC will fight it out against Bosso90 at White City B Arena. Victoria Falls’ Chinotimba Stadium will be the venue for the game between Mosi Rovers and army outfit Indlovu Iyanyathela. Talen Vision will fight it out against Plumtree-based Mainline at Filabusi Government Primary School.
DRC United of Hwange will square it off against Jordan Sinnot at Mpumalanga ground in the coal mining town. Meanwhile, Southern Region Division One spokesperson Blessing Mbandwa says they are happy with the way their fixtures schedule has been moving.
“We have so far progressed well with our fixtures as compared to past seasons. I think this is very good for the development of the game in the country. Hopefully will be able to end the season on a high note,” said Mbandwa.
